Scope and Impact of E-learning

The growing inclination towards e learning is in many ways related to the increase in access to ICT in addition to the decline in its cost. The multimedia resource base of education is spreading at a fast rate fueling interest in today's contemporary net generation. Now, individuals have more options in terms of pace of learning, choice of subjects, teaching methodology, flexibility of time, and asynchronous and synchronous medium of communication.

Fundamentally, e learning solutions have simplified the entire education system and in turn helped both the educators and students in a large way. The most beneficial of all things has been the freedom to choose. With e learning, various types of teaching modalities have seen the day light and the barriers of conventional methodologies have finally been broken.

Educational institutes see online training development as a means of tapping into the niche market, often referred now as the education industry, and in turn getting large returns. More and more institutions are now offering distance education programs with different settings including single, dual and mixed mode to suit the need of prospective client base. Online training programs are now considered as logical extensions of distance education activities, by rationalizing costs.
